Summer Nature Camp

The summer nature day camp operates on a one week, nine-day, and two week basis Monday to Friday. Daily programs are geared to specific age groups ranging from 5 to 13 years. These specialized nature programs ensure a high level of activity and interest for each participant.

The Nature Camp is directed by professional nature interpreters who work regularly throughout the year with school classes and community groups.

This summer, give your child the opportunity to develop a lasting appreciation for the natural environment.

Singsong, crafts and games are incorporated into the daily agenda to enhance the above activities.

Registration

Our online registration form is ready! However, payment must still be made by calling the Centre for Urban Ecology at 416-675-5009.

To register your child please follow the following steps:

2. Click on the button below to leave the Humber Arboretum website and go to Active Network's secure registration site:

 

3. Call 416-675-5009 to pay for the camp session(s) you registered for.

Meals

  • Bring lunches and drinks each day except for Wednesday's.
    (Please refer to Parents Information Sheet). 
  • Bring morning juice break and afternoon snack.
  • Please inform us of any food allergies.

What to Bring

  • Bathing Suit (every day)
  • Towel (every day)
  • Water Shoes/Sandals (for running through soaker hose)
  • Swim goggles (Tues and Thurs)
  • Light-coloured, cotton clothing will be most comfortable in the heat and will offer the best protection against mosquitoes.
  • Sunscreen
  • Insect Repellent
  • Rain Coat
  • Rubber Boots (for river study day)
  • Water Bottle
  • Lunch (except Wednesday)
  • Backsac or bag (to hang on hook at Nature Camp)
  • Hat
  • Extra Socks

Leaders in Training - Ages 14 and 15

The two year Leaders-in-Training program offers 14 and 15 year olds the opportunity to gain valuable experience working at a nature camp.  The L.I.T. program offers leadership training over an 4 week session.  This program will prepare L.I.T.s for future counsellor positions.

To reserve a spot in one of the L.I.T. sessions please send an email to naturec@humber.ca with the following information:

  • The L.I.T.'s name(s)
  • The dates of the sessions you would like to attend camp
  • Your telephone number
  • The L.I.T.'s age(s)
