Summer Camp


The Summer Nature Day Camp operates on a one week basis, Monday to Friday from 9:00am - 4:00pm . This year the cost of camp is as follows.

  • One week camp fee- $225
  • One week before care - $40
  • One week after care- $45
  • Both before and after care - $75
  • Four day camp fee- $180
  • Four day before care - $32
  • Four day after care - $36
  • Four day both before and after care - $60

The Nature Camp is directed by professional nature interpreters who work regularly throughout the year with school classes and community groups.

This summer, give your child the opportunity to develop a lasting appreciation for the natural environment.

Please note exact days for swimming, animal show & lunch are subject to change. This is due to ongoing negotiations with the community pool as to the days available for swimming throughout the summer. When the exact dates are finalized, our calendar in the more information about camp section will be changed and a general email will be sent out.



Cancellation Policy

Cancelling up to two weeks prior to camp will result in a $75.00 processing fee. A cancellation fee of 50% of the camp fees will be charged for cancellations with less than two weeks' notice.

Meals

What to Bring

The children will bring their own lunches and drinks each day. Please inform us of any food allergies and please do not bring nut products of any kind to camp.The Arboretum Centre For Urban Ecology is accessible by TTC. Please contact us for further details.

March Break Camp

Daily programs are geared to specific age groups ranging from 5 to 13 years. These specialized nature programs ensure a high level of activity and interest for each participant. The camp is facilitated by Nature Interpreters who work regularly throughout the year with school classes and community groups.

Make this March Break worthwhile for your child by giving him or her the opportunity to develop a lasting appreciation for the natural environment.

March Break camp this year cost $225 per child and runs from 9:00am - 5:00pm. We offer both Before & After Care at the following price: Before Care $40, After Care $45 and both Before & After Care $75. As with all camps at the Humber Arboretum an afternoon snack will be provided as well as on Friday 18th March there will be a pizza lunch provided.

Junior and Senior Counsellors (14-16 years)

Graduates of the L.I.T. Program are eligible to participate as counsellors during March Break Camp. You are invited to call the Camp Director at 416-675-5009 if you are 14 years of age or older, to confirm your participation.


Meals and Transportation

The children will bring their own lunches and drinks each day except for Friday. Additional drinks,snacks and Friday lunch will be provided by the Arboretum. Winter Camp


Unfortunately there will be no winter camps going forward at the Arboretum. Thank you for your participation and interest, and check out some of the events that will be running at the Arb here.




Leaders in Training Program


Leaders In Training (LIT) - Ages 14 and 15 - $400

The two-year Leaders In Training (LIT) program offers 14 and 15-year-olds the opportunity to gain valuable experience working at a nature camp. The LIT program offers leadership training over a four-week session. LITs will be required to attend daily on weekdays from 8:45am-4:15pm for the length of their session. This program will prepare LITs for future leadership positions.

1st year 1st session July 6th - 31st
1st year 2nd session August 4- Sept 4th

2nd year 1st session July 6th - 31st
2nd year 2nd session Aug 4th - Sept 4th

During the LIT program, we will be focusing on developing the following skills.
